The YCC is in charge of organizing the Chemistry Lab event for the Michigan State Science Olympiad Tournament. Nearly 100 teams participate in this event from middle schools and high schools across the state of Michigan. This year the event entailed an exam and experiments pertaining to oxidation/reduction and periodicity. We also took part in organizing the food science section of the Science Olympiad. For the food science section we had the students take a test that included questions about calories, categorization of baking goods and viscosity. As always it was a good time for everyone.
